Britannia Panopticon Book Fair

If anyone happens to be in Glasgow’s Merchant City next Saturday afternoon (perhaps taking in the entertainment and foodie delights of the Merchant City Festival), you might be interested in the Britannia Panopticon Book Fair. A selection of local and international authors will be selling books and giving readings in the historic surroundings of the world’s oldest surviving music hall. It’s well worth a visit, even just to be able to see the stage where Stan Laurel told his first ever joke. And if you do happen in, take a few moments to drop by the Glasgow SF Writers’ Circle table and say hello. Joining myself will be Michael Cobley, Brian Milton and Hal Duncan, and we’ll be selling a selection of books by ourselves and other members of GSFWC. We’ll each be taking a turn in the reading chair too, so check the event page for the schedule, if that’s of interest to you.

The event is 12-5pm, Saturday August 1st, and the entry to the Panopticon is down the lane to the right of Mitchell’s arcade on Trongate.

Hope to see a few friendly faces.
